Kashka and Paul Christmas Day 2001 |
|
From: Paul Bryson [PBryson@opi.com] Sent: Monday, December 31, 2001 10:19 AM To: All OPI Lotus Notes Users; Subject: successful delivery of carbon polymer fragment You've all been waiting to hear the results of the experiment... I proposed to Kashka on Christmas Eve..... She said Yes!!!!!!! The crystalline tetrahedral carbon polymer fragment has a weight of 0.22 g (= 1.1 carat) and is commercially designated "GVS-2". It is mounted for social display on a circular platinum band of naturally occurring isotopic frequency (Pt avg = 195.08 a.m.u.). The polymer fragment is cut in a square pattern commercially designated as "Princess". Eight smaller carbon polymer fragments flank the major one, four on either side, arranged sequentially along the band, so that approximately 120 degrees of the arc is occupied by intermittent carbon polymer fragments. The experiment was conducted adjacent to a cut, juvenile Pseudotsuga menziesii tree, stabilized with a welded iron base, preserved with water and equipped with light bulbs of various visible frequencies (some oscillating 1/0). Cut tree was also equipped with light-reflecting devices and other, variously configured and colored symbols known to be of familial and/or religious significance. Room was heated and partially illuminated with natural-sourced unprocessed cellulose combustion in a brick-lined reaction vessel with vertical venting. Since supernatural help was invoked in the procedure, normal scientific protocols of experimental repeatability cannot be applied. The data is therefore anecdotal, but the result is well verified. The date is not set, estimated June, which leaves time for a 6 month stability test. Process has already passed the freeze-thaw test (3 days in Colorado snow at her brother's) and TWO 14-hour road trip tests. I am confident that the rest of the experiment will succeed as well. <>< Paul _________________________________ Paul Bryson, Ph.D. Co-Director of Research & Development O. P. I. Products, Inc. | I was scheduled to have dinner with Paul, his mother (Lucy) and her boyfriend (Jim) on Christmas Eve then go to candlelight church services. So needless to say I was all dressed up. I figured it wasn't going to happen tonight, we are just having dinner. Right?
God and I had a long talk earlier in the month and I had a great peace that when it happens weather it was the Christmas or 6 months from now I was going to be content. It was up to him and Paul to decide when. I was just going along for the ride. So I arrived at Paul's about 5:30. Lucy and Jim weren't there. I asked "did she go to pick him up?" Paul said "yes." This wasn't unusual so I thought nothing of it. We grabbed a drink of water and went into the family room where there was a roaring fire. I asked him to tell me the stories of their ornaments on the tree. You know all the fun ones you made as a kid and so on. We looked and he shared. I was hugging him and said "I'm sorry honey, I should have gotten you an ornament for our first Christmas together." He said "Oh! I have one here for you under the tree" He went down on both knees to grab it under the tree. He turn towards me and only came up on one knee and said "I love you, will you marry me?" I started to giggled and said "Yes." We hugged, I cried as he placed the beautiful ring on my finger. (I didn't know how beautiful it truly was until I finally stopped crying and giggling.) I couldn't have asked for a more perfect proposal. This was the first time either of us had said "I love you" to each other. It was extremely moving and special. We are still all mushy over the whole "I love you" thing. And so the story continues.............
